Retreat and a Buddy Day!

Hello,

Yesterday was a wonderful day as we participated in collaborative games, listened to speakers and learned more about Holy Redeemer Parish during our church retreat. It was a lot of fun and I was very pleased to see how well all of the students were working together.

Today, the remaining Math tests were completed. My goal is to have them marked and returned before the end of the week. I have marked all of the multiple choice questions and given students individual feedback about their work. Overall, the students did a great job on that section of the test.

This morning, the students also completed their summaries and written responses about "The Boastful Tortoise." If this work was not completed in class, it is expected to be finished for homework.

Once this task was completed, students wrote journal entries describing their favourite parts of the church retreat.

Later, the students listened to a guest speaker in the gym, Cathy Koss, who spoke about our monthly theme for September. Ask you children if they remember the theme. I will post the answer tomorrow.

Next, the students had an opportunity to do some reading with Grade 3 students from Mr. Caron's class.

Finally, after eating lunch, a small group of Grade 6 students participated in basketball activities in the gym, during recess. They had some fun games of "bump" and some 3-on-3 to wrap things up.

Have a good night.

Mr. Skinner
