Introduction to Multiples

Hello,

This morning the students participated in a multiplication challenge. The students were asked to complete 60 questions, as quickly as possible. The first person to achieve a perfect score was the winner. Congratulations to Eden on her victory!

Next, we answered some questions that introduced the students to multiples and the concept of Lowest Common Multiple.

Finally, we had group discussions about our written responses for the Boastful Tortoise. We discussed our graphic organizer summaries, specifically the problem, the main events and the solution. We talked about why it was important to say that the tortoise fell because of his boastfulness, in order to tell the entire story.

There is no homework tonight, other than to make sure you look your best for picture day tomorrow. Don't forget to bring in your forms. We will be having our pictures taken early in the morning.

Also, the students are encouraged to read a book of their choice for at least 20 minutes tonight, and check out this site, for more work with Lowest Common Multiples.
