A great first week!

Hello,

I am so pleased with how the first week went. The students worked very hard and were always well behaved.

My apologies for not posting on the Blog yesterday. It was my daughter's first day of JK, so I raced home so I could see her get off the bus and hear all about her day. She had lots of stories to tell, and I didn't get the chance to post on the blog before late in the evening, so I decided to wait until today.

Over the last two days, the students presented their ideas regarding the importance of education, and what they hope to learn this year. We continued to work on patterning, as we explored t-charts. We edited the first drafts of our summer recounts with a partner, and started to type our good copies on Google Drive.

Finally, we practised our parts for the September liturgy. Deacon Paul will join us on Monday at 10:15 for our first celebration of the year.

There is no homework for the weekend, but the students may choose to work on a few things, with upcoming events and tasks in mind.

Religion - the volunteer readers should practice their sections for Monday's liturgy.

Math - everyone should already have the t-chart sheets completed. Some students may choose to work on the upcoming pattern sheets that they asked for today, as they wanted to get ahead.

Language - the students can work on the good copies of their summer recount on Google Drive this weekend. They are expected to have the recount typed for Tuesday, so they can start working on the Bitstrip comic to accompany the text.

So, lots of possibilities, lots of fun options for the weekend.

Have a great night.

Mr. Skinner
