Stem and Leaf plots

Hello,

Today we spent some time working on Stem and Leaf plots. We worked on an example together and then the students were given some time to complete questions 3 to 5 in their Math notebooks. If the questions were not completed in class, the students are asked to complete them tonight for homework.

We also started to work on a graphic organizer for different types of graphs we will be working with this unit. Our focus was on bar graphs, line graphs, scatter plot graphs and circle graphs. We will complete our work on this task on Tuesday morning.

In Language, we continued to hone our summarizing skills. We looked at our summaries from Square and Fair and then we read a new story called Three Monks, no water, and began to summarize this story as well.

Today, the students also received the permission forms for the ski trip. Please return the forms and cheques by Monday, January 20, 2014. The pizza orders also need to be returned on the same day.
