Recycling and 67's tickets!

Here is some interesting information I have been asked to post on my blog, to help spread the word:

1. Ottawa 67's Home Opener - Free Tickets

The school has been given the opportunity to distribute free tickets to this Friday's home opener of the Ottawa 67's at the Canadian Tire Centre. Game time is 7:30 pm. 

If you are interested in receiving tickets, please send a note to school with your child. Please be sure to include your child's name, their homeroom teacher and the number of tickets you would like to have. Tickets will be distributed on a first come-first served basis.

2. Do you know what we collect at Holy Redeemer?

Holy Redeemer is proud to be a Silver Eco School this year! Each day we collect a variety of items that in addition to helping care for the environment, also assist various charities and social justice projects. Should you have any of the following items, please send them in.  There are collection containers just inside the front entrance of the school. 
1. used batteries including rechargeable and button cell batteries (for responsible recycling)
2. used ink cartridges (for responsible recycling)
3. outer milk bags (to make plarn used in sleeping mats for developing countries)
4. pop can tabs (to assist various charities)
5. egg cartons (to assist an Ottawa food bank in distributing donated eggs to clients)
